It’s mid-February and there’s a whole lot of knitting going on! We’ve been having lots of fun at the shop, playing with new yarns and patterns and dreaming up future classes. Thought you might enjoy a sneak peak of some things we’re working on:
Landy has been knitting the ultimate cabled cardigan. She told me she’d wanted to make this Patons pattern for years and I said: “Me too!” I guess we’re not alone because 571 people on Ravelry have made this pattern, and 1,562 people want to make it. Check out this line…. Would you like to join in?
It’s just the kind of sweater that everyone wants to make at least once in their knitting life. And get this: Landy says it’s easy. Hmmmm… Whether easy or challenging, if you think it’s time for you to make this sweater, please give us a shout. We’d like to organize a knit-along if there is interest. Let us know!
Here’s Ausra looking fetching as she wears the Estonian lace shawl she recently completed in Habu Textiles Fine Merino (we have the Fiber Trends pattern here) and knitting with the new Debbie Bliss yarn, “Angel.”
She is knitting the cropped, lace top from Debbie’s booklet A Fine Romance and how romantic it is! A simple tee-shirt shape done in a lovely lace pattern with fine, soft yarn! Perfect.
Speaking of fetching, Landy just whipped up a pair of Fetching mitts (a free pattern from Knitty.com) with the sweetest little cables in Debbie Bliss’s Cashmerino Aran yarn.
She says this is the only pattern she’s knit more than once and she loves it. Spring class, anyone?
Landy and I have both been knitting from the new Noro Accessories book that is chock-full of inspiration. Here’s Landy’s amazing Slip Stitch Cowl done in two different Noro colorways.
I’ve been working on the Stitch Sampler Tote, a beautiful felted bag that shows off the Noro colors and some interesting stitch work.
We think these might be fun classes coming up….
Lately, my night-time, veg-out knitting has been this infinity scarf that’s been so popular on Ravelry. I absolutely couldn’t wait to start it in Bliss, a locally hand-dyed Merino/cashmere blend. The yarn has been “bliss” to work with and might I also point out that it is a glorious shade of pink!
(We have it in other colors too, should pink not be your thing.)
